The Florida Collegiate Summer League is a wood bat baseball league with six teams in Central Florida. Founded in 2003, the league provides a valuable opportunity for college players to play wood bat baseball against top-level competition with the goal of preparing them for a career in professional baseball. The Florida League operates under the legislation of the NCAA and is funded in part by Major League Baseball. It is one of the top collegiate summer leagues in the nation. The Sanford River Rats, one of the 6 league teams, play at the historic Sanford Memorial Stadium – a great place to catch a game!
