Just a short drive from Elizabethtown is Kart Kountry, home to the world’s largest go-kart track in the world at over 1.5 miles. With five sizes of karts set to five different speeds, there’s bound to be a kart for every member of your family to drive. There’s even a separate kiddie track with kiddie karts for the little ones. When you’re done driving, you can check out their two 18 hole miniature golf courses complete with waterfalls, streams, sand traps and a huge volcano. Kentucky Derby Museum


The Kentucky Derby Museum, which sits on the front steps of historic Churchill Downs, focuses on giving visitors a first hand look at the event for which Louisville, Kentucky is known worldwide, The Kentucky Derby. The Museum consists of two floors of exhibit space, including a 360-degree theater that shows the HD video “The Greatest Race.” Through the film and exhibits, visitors can learn what goes into the breeding and training of a young foal and the path it takes to the Kentucky Derby’s winner circle. Every Kentucky Derby win is honored in the Warner L. Jones Time Machine, where visitors can watch any Kentucky Derby from 1918 to the present day.

Mammoth Cave National Park


Just under an hour’s drive from Elizabethtown is Mammoth Cave, the world’s longest known cave, with more than 400 miles of interconnected passages – so long that if the second and third longest caves in the world were joined together, Mammoth Cave would still be the planet’s longest cave and have more than 100 miles left over!
